I replace a stair light switch with a home automation timer (V1 Wifi, V2 Zigbee)

Equipment installed in the switchboard

The light on my staircase is controlled by 3 switches. Thus the manufacturer placed a switch to manage this ignition (it is for an operation identical to a back and forth but for 3 switches).

The installed model is a Merlin Gerlin 16406 module coupled to a 20725.

This module is a switch.

electrical hazard

Note that anything related to the switchboard or the connection to the 220v can be dangerous and must require the expertise of a professional.

Here is the wiring diagram of my installation (4-wire wiring):

Next material (V.1 April 2021)

The ordered equipment that will replace this switch is a SinoTimer TM609. This is a timer (building stairwell type timer). This equipment is interfacing on SmartLife, it is thanks to SmartLife that I will associate this module with Jeedom (or Home Assistant).

This module (CE) can be found in French sellers (34.90€ + port) or on AliExpress (16.38€ Free shipping Received in 10 days).

Next material: ZIGBEE (V.2 August 2023)

The ordered equipment that will replace this switch is an ATMS1602Z. This is a timer (building stairwell type timer). This equipment is unworkable via Zigbee.

I have already used this equipment on this retex:

This module (EC) , I ordered it on AliExpress (20.84€ Free shipping, small promo, Received in 10 days).

Installation of the new device on existing wiring

Obviously, I keep the circuit breaker 20725 and I replace the 16406 with the TM609 (or ATMS1602Z).

Here is the new wiring, with respect for the colours of the existing cables:

Nothing very complex to wire, here are the photos of the result:

The TM209 is connected but not powered (20725 broken):

The light is switched off:

The light is on:

The hood is closed:

Your push buttons are connected to the phase

In many installations, the phases of the switches are connected to each other and do not go down to the switchboard. It is sometimes complex to pull a cable between the push buttons and the table, to be more concrete, it is the hatched cable that sometimes does not exist:

In this case, a contactor must be installed which will avoid having potential on one of the A1 or A2 inputs of the TM609.

Here is a schema proposal (thanks a thousand times to Home automation store who had found this solution):

The Iskra contactor can be found at home automation-store (19.90€+port) or a close equivalent on Aliexpress (3.51€+1.44€ shipping).

Integration of the new TM609 in Jeedom (V1)

This integration is done via SmartLife which is interconnected to Alexa via a skill. Then Alexa-API/Alexa-smartHome retrieves the equipment in Jeedom.

The only disadvantage of smartHome is that the scenarios are necessarily in the cloud. So more internet, more change of state. With Zigbee integration (next paragraph), the change takes place at the level of your local network.

This integration is detailed in the tutorial:

Integration of the new ATMS1602Z in Home Assistant (V2)

This is Zigbee equipment, so I will add it in a classic way in Zigbee2MQTT

The latter will send it to Home Assistant.

I added an automation that turns off the stairs after a minute

or

alias: Extinguish stairs after 1 min description: "" trigger: - platform: device type: turned_on device_id: ssssssssss entity _id: fffffffffff domain: switch condition: [] action: - delay: hours: 0 minutes: 1 second: 0 milliseconds: 0 - service: switch.turn _off data: {} target: entity_id: switch. stairway mode: single

And here it is, the graphic integration, the staircase turned on, the stopover turned off:
