Presentation Sonoff Mini R3 (and SMate)

To complete the documentation page of the Sonoff-DIY plugin and the page explaining the integration of the Mini R3 in Jeedom, I come here to present what I will describe as the best Sonoff product in years!!

New in this product (compared to R1 or R2 Mini)

  • Increase of the commandable power to 16 A (compared to 10 A on the R2)

  • No more external antenna, it had already disappeared in the transition from R1 to R2

  • It can be coupled to its little brother "Switch Mate" or SMate which allows to remove the neutral

  • It is a little larger than the R1/R2 and does not enter without forcing into the standard French placo boxes. This is a concern but it can be understood to support 16A, integration into a dedicated junction box or bypass box is more appropriate than a switch placo box.
  • MinirR2: 42.6×42.6x20mm
  • MiniR3: 54x45x24mm
  • In its documentation, Sonoff specifies the compatibility but they include a junction box and not a placo box for switch (see 3rd image below)

  • Installation on DIN rail, it may seem minimal but it is a great idea, the R3 is supplied with a clip-on bracket on a DIN rail, I think the idea is great.

  • A protection of the clamping screws by a particularly well studied cover that comes to clip on the bottom of the product
