State of play on Jeedom
I have two Zigbee Gateways from Xiaomi, they are still on my home automation network, not as a gateway but only as a light display.
- I have one in the entrance that lights up light pink when the front door is open, bright white when the front door is closed, blue at night when the house is secure and red during the day when there is no one and the house is under surveillance.
- I have one in the bedroom. It illuminates in green 2 min when you ask for control of the house before dodo (zigbee button on the night table), this checks that the gate, the garage, the shutters are closed, that the front door is locked. It lights up in orange if there is a problem (and Alexa of the Chamber announces which one)
On Jeedom, they are driven by the Xiaomi Home plugin

I had not included Zigbee equipment for a long time on these gateways and I see that there are still equipment attached to them. I will see on the link with HA find me them.
Integration in Home Assistant
I saw that there were two possible integrations of the gateways, I try a comparison

I compare the same gateway on two different integrations, I take my Gateway "Entry": I note that the integration of the left-hand column detects all equipment, whereas the integration of the right-hand column only detects the Gateway. It should also be noted that the right-hand integration detects the state of the alarm, a gadget that I have never used but which is integrated into the gateway, automations can be created from the Xiaomi Home Android app. |

7 devices and 16 entities
|
2 devices and 6 entities
|
| I notice that the brightness value is not the same on both gateways, I put something on it to decrease the brightness. Here is the result and the history. The brightness calculation is different but when you set a value, you can work relatively, so it is not inconvenient. | |

Regarding the change of colour and light intensity, the two gateways react immediately, no difference. Everything works perfectly

After this comparison, I don't know what is the best integration to keep. If I had to operate the Zigbee equipment, I would use Xiaomi Gateway (Aqara) which detects them better, but that is not my case. I do not need the ‘Alarm’ information that I do not use.
I consulted the literature on these polling or push issues. As the catches are on a sector-by-sector basis, the issue of battery economy does not arise. I really don’t have anything that makes me lean towards push technology or polling technology.
My leftover developers lead me to believe that polling ‘should’ consume more resources than push, which only reacts when necessary. I would also rather use a token dev than a cloud ID to retrieve the devices. All this is quite subjective, but choosing is also giving up. So at this point, I will keep the integration Xiaomi Gateway (Aqara) and remove integration Xiaomi Miio. It is not the choice that we make 8 times more users of the second integration but it appeared earlier so it can be rounded up all users as soon as it is released. The Push version did not arrive until later.
Edit 10/05/2023, there is another integration, not tested by me but that I report to you (on the advice of WarC0zes) : https://github.com/AlexxIT/XiaomiGateway3
