Néo reviews the sealing of its external siren Zigbee NAS-AB06B2

I still remember this early December 2025, my siren Zigbee outdoor NEO NAS-AB06B2, star of my initial test and my Zigbee siren comparison, had gone offline.

I climb the ladder, I dismantle … and there, disaster: full of water, the circuit soaks. I try an emergency resuscitation, nothing to do, the battery works perfectly, it is full, it is the electronic card that does not leave. Rip the mermaid!

More than a year of impeccable service reduced to nothing by inadequate sealing. I was disgusted because it was the only real good outdoor siren Zigbee.

My doubt at its reception was the ability of the solar collector to hold over time, its ability to provide more energy than the siren consumes, it worked perfectly, the fault of the siren was its tightness.

Once the mourning has been done and I admit to many requests from visitors to my blog who asked me for news of my mermaid, as it also came to them to make their souls determined, I order a new one. NAS-AB06B2 to autopsie the problem and offer my loyal readers a tutorial to tweak with putty. And there, total surprise! When I open it, I discover that NEO has reviewed its copy: the manufacturer had to receive tons of returns like mine and upgraded the model without changing the reference. Without indicating anything on the box, but by making some modifications that I will present to you.

The autopsy side by side

I put the old one (right) next to the new one (left) and compare, camera in hand, screwdriver not far away. Here are my observations.

The two notches of the upper part have disappeared in favor of two holes for two screws. I also note that the standards have been inscribed as well as some indications on this rear hood.

I see that the white/transparent seal that was intended to ensure the sealing has disappeared, at this stage I wonder why and how it would be insured without it. At the same time, the two upper screw holes suggest that you will not screw into a joint.

And that's the answer. A new black joint glued to the hood is planned, we obviously note the two siliconing holes, beautiful!

At this point, I take out my screwdriver and dismantle ….

And this is just perfect. The fastening clips between the blue plastic and the white plastic have been replaced by screws, the assembly has been siliconised.

I note in passing that the e-card has not evolved, it is the same, the same reference.

As I dig a little deeper, I see that the siren’s third notch has also been siliconised. Nothing to say, it is well done.

I am convinced, everything has been seen, all risks have been taken into account. I pull up the siren and charge it to the maximum before putting it into service.

Return to service

I integrate it directly into Zigbee2MQTT, giving it the name of the old siren that I had deleted.

I do a few trigger tests, it's perfect, everything works.

It regains its place on my … façade

How do I know where to buy?

I do not know whether Neo has completely abandoned the old model or whether there are still non-waterproof models available for sale on Chinese sites such as AliExpress.

I have referenced on the page dedicated to NAS-AB06B2 links to sellers.

At the same time, I asked the teams of Domadoo to know what they had in stock, they only have new versions, so with the sealing silicone, it is rather reassuring.

Conclusion

NEO, low hat: you corrected your original errors by listening to the users.

Today, the NAS-AB06B2 is THE ultimate outdoor solar Zigbee siren – reliable, autonomous, integrated.

I put it back at the top of my comparison.
