π I check the received model
On the cardboard, it is impossible to read the reference β they dared gray on gray gradient! It is unreadable, so I advise you to check the model on the sellerβs website before purchasing.

Fortunately, on the back of the case, the reference is clearly legible. Checking the information on the product received is essential to ensure that it matches the order.

Good news: the battery is included, allowing the sensor to be tested immediately without any additional purchase. The battery is new, protected by a tongue.

This sensor is compact, discreet and comes with double-sided to facilitate installation without drilling. The assembly inspires confidence, to be seen in the long term.

π¦ Unpacking and First Impressions
The CR2032 battery is new and comes with a protective tab: ready to use as soon as you leave the box. The sensor is easily installed thanks to the adhesive supplied. It is discreet, sober, positioned on any type of door or window.
For operation, the opening/closing detection is done via the supplied magnet. When the magnet is moved away or closer together, the sensor changes state without delay, which is the minimum for a reliable safety system.
π‘ Tips to properly install your sensor
To ensure reliable detection and avoid false alarms:
- Place the sensor on the fixed part (frame) and the magnet on the moving part (door or window).
- Respect the distance indicated in the manual (usually β€ 1cm between the sensor and the magnet).
- Clean the surface thoroughly before gluing the double-sided, for long-lasting fastening.
- Test several openings/closures before closing the case completely.
Tip: Avoid metallic areas that could disrupt the Zigbee signal.
π Integration in Zigbee2MQTT
I launch Zigbee2MQTT in pairing mode, then remove the tab from the stack. For those who discover, Zigbee2MQTT is a software that connects Zigbee devices to your home automation system (Home Assistant, Domoticz β¦).
First surprise: the white LED lights up briefly and then turns off, which is not the usual behaviour. I therefore consult the notice: the hidden button must be held for 6 seconds to start pairing (the module flashes and then discusses with the Zigbee controller).

The sensor is recognized as a Tuya TS0203, everything works perfectly. The battery is immediately detected (100%, to be monitored over time β¦). This is rare, as most sensors often require 24 hours to reassemble the battery info.

I check that the opening/closing detection works at each passage of the magnet: no latency, it is validated. I **rename** then the sensor to find it easily in my interface.

π Integration in Home Assistant
I instantly find the sensor in Home Assistant. The open/closed state is clearly displayed, as is the battery (to be monitored, as some models may overvalue the battery).

Please note: the sensor announces a manipulation detection (anti-sabotage), but this function does not work (even when shaking or opening the case). I disable it in Home Assistant. It is important to check all advertised functions, some are only marketing on this type of entry-level model.
On the battery side, it is displayed at 100% and at 3000mV β it sounds suspicious, but only time will tell if it is reliable. Remember to monitor regularly, this is vital for safety.
The Detection opening/closing works perfectly, without false positives or latency.
β Examples of useful automations
With this sensor, I can easily create automations in Home Assistant:
- Open Door Alert: Notification on smartphone if the door remains open for more than 10 minutes.
- Alarm trigger: Turn on the siren if the sensor detects an opening when the alarm is activated.
- Statistics: Monitoring the number of openings per day/week/month.
All these actions are simple to configure in Home Assistant, without any line of code.
π‘ Good to know: tips and troubleshooting
- Battery always at 100%Β ? Normal for certain models: allow a few days to pass and monitor the level over time.
- Difficult pairing? Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, put it back on and then start pairing again.
- Slow or random opening detection? Check the distance between sensor and magnet (less than 1 cm), and avoid metal interference.
π¬ My opinion after commissioning
For less than β¬10, this Moes sensor provides the essentials: Reliable opening/closing detection and perfect integration into Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant. The supplied battery is a real plus. Too bad that the "manipulation detection" function is not operational.
I recommend checking all the features after installation, and renaming each sensor to fit in, especially if you install more than one.

π Installation and monitoring of batteries
π 1 sensor installed on front door on 12/04/2025 (original new battery)
- No battery changes reported at this time.
π 1 sensor installed under the porch on 29/03/2026 (original new battery)

β Conclusion
For a price of less than β¬10, this Moes sensor does the job of monitoring openings/closures. Quick installation, battery included, reliable detection. Battery tracking is to be monitored over time, but for the price, it remains an excellent choice to equip several accesses without exploding its home automation budget.
