Who is NEO?
NEO is not a manufacturer, it is a trademark owned by a Chinese company that specializes in home automation products and smart home solutions.
It is a brand that I have known for a long time, especially for its smart plugs, so I approach this brand with serenity.
Where to buy this equipment?
Here is the link to the page dedicated to NAS-AB02B2. I referenced the sellers and prices.
I open the box and check the received model
It should be noted that the box appears to be a generic box of Wifi equipment but a small label comes to inform me that it is a Zigbee product.
The back opens (turning) and there are two batteries (supplied), CR123A-3V. Attention, iol are batteries, not rechargeable batteries.
I connect the batteries and try a Zigbee2MQTT integration
I notice that a small piece of paper isolates one of the two batteries, I remove it, it connects the batteries, LEDs turn on and off immediately, I think the siren is powered.
At this stage, I do not know whether or not to connect the housing to the sector, I first try to do so without connecting it.
I press the Reset button, the siren ronches, I let go and everything starts flashing in all directions.
The pairing starts.
At this stage, integration has been successful, and the siren is well taken care of.
The commands seem simple, I will test all this immediately.
Alarm commands
It is very simple at this level. True Throw the siren, False is a stop!
Sound effects
There are 18 melodies, there is something for everyone, this mermaid amuses me a lot, it scores points. It therefore has a multitude of uses!! There are melodies of alarms, ringtones, music, different beeps … there is something for everyone.
The duration of the melody
Adjusted between 0 and 1800s, the duration of the ringing can be set.
The volume of the sound
There are 3 levels of sound volume, it is rather convenient, the low is really low, but why not for a doorbell in the middle of the night.
Battery information
I do not know how often the battery returns, the interface provided either the percentage of the battery or an info true/false when the battery is low.
Conclusion at this stage
I find this siren very convenient, everything on the screen is useful and ultimately very simple.
I give a name to my mermaid (Sirène NEO) and I go to Home Assistant
I test the siren in Home Assistant
It’s just perfect! Integral in 2 min and everything is there.
I will add a card on my Dashboard
Here it is, it is done in 10s
To sound the alarm, I can easily use a service switch
Testing batteries
I deliberately disconnected the power supply and left the siren on standby.
I am rather surprised, finally, even in standby mode, the equipment is not optimised at all, the batteries only last 89 hours or 3 days and 17 hours.
Conclusion
On the soft side, this Mermaid is great, configured in a few seconds, recognized immediately by Zigbee2MQTT and by ricochet by Home Assistant.
The multitude of melodies makes it possible to use it for both a chime and an intrusion, fire or smoke alarm …
On the hardware side, this equipment seems to be of serious design, the batteries are only used in the event of a power cut but do not recharge. The maximum volume power is a little low for a siren.

Comparison of Zigbee sirens
To go further and help choose, I made a comparison of several Zigbee sirens.
