Purpose of this tutorial

Turn on my suction unit (centralised suction unit) by order to Alexa: ‘ Alexa triggers the vacuum cleaner‘ 

Materials

• The suction unit (it is an Aldès, installed since 2008, no worries so far). It is equipped with a terminal block that allows the power plant to be triggered with a small on/off (dry contact).

• A Sonoff Basic which is flashé with ESP Easy and who is modified to make dry contact (on/off), this contact is connected to the terminal blocks of the suction unit

• A Amazon Alexa Echo

Principle

• The Sonoff Basic is flashed with ESP Easy and then interfaced to Jeedom with the Espeasy plugin

• In Jeedom, you add a command Launch which makes it possible to launch an On/Off on GPIO 12 (Relay), here is the command:

• We note the URL link that allows to launch the order with a Post http: For example: http://192.168.0.100/core/api/jeeApi.php?apikey=3mDPf04Y09gJDyNTUddr4cXRL1LiGMYG3sxlca65Zv&type=cmd&id=5735

Installation and Config of the Alexa plugin

This tutorial is not intended to explain the installation of the Alexa plugin, taking the €12/year subscription from Jeedom, let’s note that all this is operational.

Mandatory generic type

Check that a ‘generic type’ has been set to the ‘Launch’ command in the ESP Easy plugin, so search for your order and click on then second tab, Generic type

It should be noted that I voluntarily chose a ‘light’ type because in the integration into the Alexa plugin, I will choose to declare the device as a light. (At first, I had declared a catch, but the acknowledgement of receipt was problematic)

It is over, so the vacuum cleaner is controlled by voice with one:

• Alexa triggers the vacuum cleaner
