🔍 I check the received model

The CR2450 battery is present in the box, it is announced for 4 years of battery life! (to be confirmed over time of course). It is new and protected by a tongue.

🌡 Operating Temperatures

📦 First impressions and installation
The battery is large (CR2450), supposed to last 4 years. It is new and protected by a tongue. This sensor can be attached with the double side provided, but there is also a metal plate and a magnet for fast, clever and non-drilling installation – I love this system (already adopted on the SNZB-02D for the interior).
The product looks promising, to be seen over time for autonomy and reliability.
🔗 I integrate the sensor with Zigbee2MQTT
I put Zigbee2MQTT in pairing mode, I remove the tab from the … battery but the pairing goes wrong, I start again, mistake again. Finally, I press the sensor button for a long time and then the pairing starts correctly.

The sensor is recognized as an SNZB-02P, perfect, and the battery goes up immediately (which is rare and appreciable).

🏠 I find the sensor in Home Assistant
I go to Home Assistant and find my equipment. Integration is immediate, temperature and humidity are present.

Values seem reliable.
⚙ Some ideas for simple automations
Thanks to this sensor, I can:
- Receive a notification if the temperature drops below 16 °C in a room
- Turn on an additional heater automatically in case of cold
- Send a humidity alert if >70 % in the bathroom
All this can be accessed in just a few clicks via Home Assistant, no code to write.
💡 Good to know: tips and advice
- Pairing problem? Feel free to press the button for a long time and bring the sensor closer to the Zigbee coordinator.
- Battery at 100 % immediately? This is rare, take advantage of it, but monitor over time to verify the reliability of the measure.
- Magnetic fastening : convenient to move the sensor without damaging the walls.
💬 My opinion after commissioning
For less than 15 €, the Sonoff SNZB-02P is an excellent choice to track temperature and humidity, with very practical fixing and record theoretical autonomy. The Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant integration is worry-free once pairing is started.
This product is promising, yet to be monitored for autonomy and reliability over time.
