I test the ground temperature/humidity monitor (outdoor) TH10Z or QT-07S

🛒 Where to buy this equipment?

Here is the link to the page dedicated to QT-07S. I referenced the sellers and prices.

I open the box and check the received model

The equipment I am testing was purchased on AliExpress, a lot I negotiated, look in my empty attic if I have any left if you want one to benefit from the prize of the lot.

A label in Chinese must give references, I note TH10Z-1PC which must be the model of the product delivered, it was the reference given to me by the seller.

I wonder how this equipment works

Should it be charged ? batteries ? supplied or not ?

First index on the box:

Batteries are not provided, I will pick up two AA batteries and then open the case.

So I place the batteries and close the case, nothing happens.

I'm trying a Zigbee2MQTT integration

I put Zigbee2MQTT in pairing mode and press the single button on the equipment.

A led inside flashes. I'm patient ….

It is integrated into the Zigbee network.

The siren is detected as a TS0601. The photo is compliant.

At this stage, integration has been successful, and the siren is well taken care of.

I test the sensor in Home Assistant

I give it an understandable name in Zigbee2MQTT and then I'll look it up in HA

For the purposes of the exercise, I plant it in a green plant, and once I press the single button, it updates the information.

I water to see what happens

I water the green plant, and the humidity changes:

I position the sensor outside, well pressed at the foot of an olive tree to see if the distance is not a problem and if the information goes up well:

The olive tree soil outside is wetter than my green plant, I will have to see what is the ideal humidity level to use it for watering, if I have information on this issue, I will return in what time to bring this information here.

The documentation explains that the ideal humidity is between 40% and70%.

To note a quality at 236 lqi which is rather good, perfect.

Feedback a few months later

Be careful, the product works well but the batteries last up to 3 months at home.
Either it is a concern for batteries, or a concern for leakage (water) that burns the batteries, or the product that consumes too much.

In the summer of 2024, I put the batteries on in June, which died in September. Here it is next year, I do not need the module in winter.

  • 09/06/2025, installation of new … batteries and they died in late summer.
