Proper configuration is therefore essential to minimize interference.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Comprendre_le_probleme\"><\/span>Understand the problem<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4>Frequency spectrum<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>WiFi uses the 2.4 GHz band with 20\/22 MHz wide channels.<\/li>\n<li>The Zigbee also uses the 2.4 GHz band but with narrower 5 MHz channels.<\/li>\n<li>WiFi channels 1, 6 and 11 are the only non-overlapping channels in 2.4 GHz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>My situation<\/h4>\n<p>As I use the Zigbee 11 channel, which is in the lower part of the 2.4 GHz spectrum, I have to configure my WiFi accordingly to minimise interference.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Configuration_recommandee_pour_mon_RT6600\"><\/span>Recommended configuration for my RT6600<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4>1. 2.4 GHz WiFi Configuration<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>I connect to the SRM (Synology Router Manager) administration interface.<\/li>\n<li>I go to \u2018WiFi Settings\u2019 and then to the \u2018Radio\u2019 tab.<\/li>\n<li>For the 2.4 GHz band, I configure:\n<ul>\n<li>Channel: 6 or 1 (I avoid channel 11). I'm going to prefer 1.<\/li>\n<li>Channel width: 20 MHz (to minimize overlaps).<\/li>\n<li>Power: Medium or Low if my devices are close.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>2. Optimization of the 5 GHz band<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>I am activating the 5 GHz band.<\/li>\n<li>I use Smart Connect to automatically direct compatible devices to the 5 GHz band.<\/li>\n<li>I set up separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz if I want more precise control.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>3. Additional measures<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>I place my Zigbee coordinator at least 2 meters from the WiFi router.<\/li>\n<li>I avoid metal barriers between devices.<\/li>\n<li>I regularly monitor network performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Verification_des_performances\"><\/span>Verification of performance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4>Indicators of potential problems<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequent disconnections of Zigbee devices.<\/li>\n<li>High latency in device responses.<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty adding new Zigbee devices.<\/li>\n<li>High Zigbee channel utilisation rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Troubleshooting solutions<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>If the problems persist:\n<ul>\n<li>I try to change the WiFi channel (I switch between 1 and 6).<\/li>\n<li>I reduce the power of WiFi transmission.<\/li>\n<li>I am considering physically moving the Zigbee coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>By correctly configuring my RT6600, I ensure a harmonious coexistence between WiFi and Zigbee.
