Background and objective<\/h3>\r\n

I have a high-performance Synology 2600 Router but it takes a few minutes to be fully operational on my local network.<\/p>\r\n

In the event of a general power outage (caused or suffered) when all the equipment is turned on at the same time, the equipment that is on the POE switch also starts at the same time as the router that is not able to assign their IP address to them (since it has not completed its initialisation), this can sometimes be problematic.<\/p>\r\n

So I looked for a way to slow down the switch by a few minutes.<\/p>\r\n

I did not want to use \u2018home automation intelligence\u2019 such as a controlled socket or other, I wanted a stand-alone system that shifts the power on the switch over time.<\/p>\r\n

Misuse of the usual mode of operation<\/h3>\r\n

This module is very classically a system to do Normally Open or Normally Closed with two modes, a delay on the ON and a delay on the OFF.<\/p>\r\n

Logically, for a conventional use, as documented, the Delay Mode on the ON and the Normally Open circuit should be used.<\/p>\r\n

Assuming that a pasted relay consumes more than an unpasted relay, and taking into account that in 99% time this module will be used live, I will use the opposite of the usual mode, i.e.: the Mode delay on OFF<\/strong> and the circuit Normally closed.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Note: In case of failure of this module, we could imagine that the relay will stop taking off, so this mode suits us in case of failure.<\/p>\r\n

I ordered a DIN delay timer, reference GRT8-EC of the brand GEYA<\/a>. (12\u20ac including shipping)<\/p>\r\n

In my case, this is the mode Delay off <\/strong>which must be used, i.e. a delay in switching to OFF, so the switch goes to the right.<\/p>\r\n

The 3 small parameters of T make it possible to configure the delay interval, on the side of the module, all modes are described, I will use the 1m-10m mode, i.e.:<\/p>\r\n

And to put 5 minutes, I turn the wheel on 50%.<\/p>\r\n
